I get my best ideas for writing and teaching while running. God has a way of getting through to me when I'm on the trail. When inspiration comes, I've learned to stop, open up Notes on my phone, and WRITE IT DOWN. I can't tell you how many times I say to myself, "there's no way I'll forget that," only to get home and go completely blank.
Strangely, napping is also a particularly good time to hear from God. Sometimes I'll lay down for a minute just because I know if I'm lucky enough to doze off—in that in between wake and sleep state—He'll solve something I'm struggling with or give me a fresh insight. Again, if I don't write it down right when I get up, it'll be gone forever. Thank you, iPhone Notes for being my memory.
